5 out of 5 stars iPod   May 2, 2007

Well...
having recieved a sizeable amount of birthday money, i decided that this is what I wanted.

After reading the many mixed reviews, I went for it. Went for the express delivery (why not?!) If your thinking of going for first class, its only £2 more and you get it quicker!

I used to have a 1st Generation Nano in White. I liked it but i wanted the video playback...badly!

I am extremely happy with this item!

One thing I have noticed is that the shiny back doesn't scratch as easily as the Nano 1st Gens.

People say the battey's not great, but even with video playback and frequent use, my iPod has lasted longer than the estimated 3.5 hours!

Also, I was worried that the videos I had ready to put on my iPod were the wrong format. You can get round this using conversion software. I used "Xilisoft Video Converter 3" and am very impressed with it. Only draw back is that it disables your internet connection but I just leave it converting in the day while I'm at school.

The image quality of videos is phenomenal. Like other reviewers have said, once you're watching something on it, you forget about the size of the screen and it's true, you do.

Also, I have noticed that the sound quality is better than that of the Nano. iTunes is exceptional software, I've been a user of it for about 18 months now and it's so easy.

Because the iPod is a bit vulnerable, get a case. I ordered the "MCA Snow Portofolio for iPod video" for £20 from apple.com/uk but it hasn't come yet so I can't really reccomend it as yet!

It's my second iPod and Apple never cease to amaze me with their technology.

I want an iMac now!!

Hope this helps!

5 out of 5 stars Blinkin' Marvelous!!   December 30, 2006

I got one of these for my Crimble off my folks and it rocks!! I thought it was going to be really difficult to work, but it's easy... like, proper easy! Who'd've thought it would be as simple as drag & drop!?!

I would agree with the whole "buy a decent set of headphones" thing because the ones that come with are pants.

I got a Griffin iClear case for mine which is toughened plastic and it's clear so you can see the screen right though the case! I also got sticky covery things for it, saves you from having to continually having to wipe your grubby paw prints off it!

As for it not having the software in the box... Well, do you really need YET ANOTHER damned software CD cluttering up your desk? Didn't think so.

Serious though, if you're thinking on getting an mp3 do-hickey, get one of these mate, you will not regret it!!

5 out of 5 stars Easier than I thought to Use>>>>>   December 11, 2006

My first experience of IPOD was one with the 512mb Shuffles that came out last year. I wasn't impressed and couldn't understand the fuss. Bought a Creative Vision M and found it played everything I threw at it but wasn't quite the real deal. Sold it and bought one of these. Love it. Very easy to use, yeah it's alittle awkward with the formats. But haven't had any problems. Screen is excellent as is the audio. You do need to download latest Itunes but you'll probably have Broadband anyway so is quick and painless. Buy a skin or case for it, and also a wall charger. Job done. I would recommend one of these to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Ipod VS Creative Zen 30gb   February 14, 2007

2 months ago i wanted to buy a 30gb mp3,video player after reading all the reviews i bought the Zen Vision M, the reasons were longer battery life and supposed ease of copying movies on to it, after a few day i found out that it was almost impossible to copy movies on to it and the sound quality was poor i bought better headphones and was still poor i tried 2 other creative zens and they sounded the same in the end i Ebayed it and tried the ipod, what pure joy even with the standard headphones it sounded amazing compared to the Zen and its so easy to put movies on, the only gripe is the battery doesn't last a whole movie and on the Zen you can delete tracks without conecting it to the computer, but the ipod wins hands down every time looks, ease of use,its slim and light, awsome!!!!!

this is the best ipod ever. although compared to the new ipod nano it has less battery life but i still think this is the best ipod. with the ability to listen to music, watch videos and create your own picture gallery. this is simply the best mp3 player ever you can even play games.
